Description
The Mantis Fatty is a big double-kick deck built from years of prototyping and refinement. It’s designed to work across city terrain, skateparks, and downhill without feeling awkward or excessive. This is not a novelty shape or a one-terrain board. It’s meant to be skated hard and set up a lot of different ways.
The wheelbase range balances stability and control, giving you confidence at speed while still staying responsive and predictable. The asymmetrical shape pairs a shovel-style nose with a squared tail, creating a directional feel without limiting how you skate. The square nose and tail keep the kicks usable and consistent for flatground, freestyle, and technical riding, even with a larger overall platform.
The Mantis Fatty is built using our Beefy Bonzing construction, with thicker maple plies and less glue to reduce flex and increase durability. The result is a board that stays stiff, holds its shape, and still feels light and easy to ollie. Large wheel wells allow you to run bigger wheels with either TKP or RKP trucks, and the Fatty concave stays comfortable and supportive without being aggressive.
The graphic was created by Chad Lybrand, inspired by a praying mantis he spotted in his backyard. It’s one of his most detailed pieces, built through stippling and layered techniques to create an immersive scene from the insect’s perspective.
